Daniel wont be surprised by this, and I suppose I shouldnt be either, but I was looking at some random photos from London and only now have I realized that the Royal Guards, the stiff guys with the funny hats, are packing some serious weaponry. They may act all ceremonial, but I suspect that each and every one of them could kick the ass of most anyone they had to.
Umm, yeah... those guys are elite commandos who've busted their ass to get that opportunity, and then trained like hell to keep it. Best of the best.

ReplyDeleteThe same thing's true of the Swiss Guard at the Vatican, although their pantaloons, pikes, and iron helmets are much cuter.
ReplyDeleteNow think for a second here...just because it seems funny-looking, is easily mockable, little understood, seems cerimonial and without actual function, easy to take verbal pot-shots at and is little understood by the populace at large...
