There are a bunch of wild turkeys around where I live. They can fly. I live on a hill and they were walking up the road when something spooked them and they all went gliding all the way down to the bottom of the hill. Pretty amazing sight, actually, especially considering how big they are now. My wife and I were laughing at them the other day as we watched them take a running start for a short flight, one by one, up into the pine trees where they sleep at night.
