Okay, so, Republicans and conservatives are always bitching that the government should be run more like a business, right? But have you ever worked for a business that was a democracy? They are, at best, oligarchies, at worst, totalitarian regimes run by petty despots (that frequently fail).

Horrendous but accurate.
Keep in mind that the goal of businesses (since the late 70's, that is) is to make profits, not help the common man (and woman).
@ DHG: yeah, that's one of the better ones.
@ Pryme: Businesses shouldnt be altruistic, not if they want to be competitive. Governments, on the other hand, are (or should be) all about people.
