I just had a horrible thought: With the ascension of China as a world power, we'll be seeing them exporting more and more of their cultural products, as well as manufactured ones. This will no doubt include a lot of high-voiced, really high-voiced, Chinese female pop stars*.
If the gods are particularly merciless, those pop stars will make heavy use of Autotune.
Some one, please, just shoot me now.

Two wrds...Pink Lady. If you don't remember them, picture two Chinese clones who don't speak ETnglish headlining a variety show along with one of Hollywood's worst advertising actors ever.
It was a train wreck.
I remember Pink Lady, though, mercifully, not in my head. The future, I fear, holds many more of their ilk, swept in by the rising tide of Chinese economic might.
