But these days, if you are a Republican , you have neither. Or you're just not paying attention.
And if you are one of those Republicans who has connections to the Pharmaceutical industry, health insurance, Big Oil, or the military-industrial complex, and make your fortune at the expense of, and from the illness and dying of, the American people (or any other people, for that matter), then you have no soul.
* This was not Churchill, by the way.

they do not really believe in god or heaven, so why should they care? it's the poor bastard evangelicals i feel sorry for. sorta.
If you're talking about the flock, yeah, okay, I can see pity: herded, shorn and eventually served up with potatoes. The leaders are the ones who make me hope that there really is a God, and that He's not the complete bastard that the Bible (as taught by evangelistas) says he is, because then there'll eventually be some comeuppance.
But, you know, there's never a cop around when you need one, is there?
