question

Do you ever find that your blogging gets in the way of your family time? Or does your family cut into your blogging time? Just curious.

I'm starting to feel a bit lost in the blogosphere, ya know? Or maybe lost isnt the right word... but I dont know what is.

Adrift, perhaps.

dave, i penned you as an edward r murrow a long time ago. i still think that fits. you organize massive amounts of data and crunch it down to concise little essays. the passion you bring to this also cannot be ignored.

i know you do not think much of your creative side, which again is unfair, but i will tell you that if i ever need a producer, and i have the money to pay you, you get the first call. i cannot think of somebody who will do the leg work and keep a train on the tracks and on time than you sir. you are maniacal in that reguard and that is what makes the best producers.

the blogosphere is shrinking and condensing and the wild traffic it started with is all over in video now. i know this much, i think you should keep your chops up by posting and to hell with the rest of us.

i do the same thing with my dinky new blog now, it's there, and once in a blue moon, something worthy still pops up.

i know this much, if you shut down i better get an updated phone number and/or email. how the heck am i supposed to reach my producer if i need him?

I dont think I actually can stop blogging. This doesnt mean, however, that I'll pay as much attention to this one as I might. I've got a few other blogs, and an idea or two for others, so who knows where I'll be posting. Lately I've been spending a lot of time at the Cafeteria. Sometimes, I shoot my whole wad in comments, and have nothing left but lame quotes for the day or whatnot.
As for me e-mail, I know you had it at one time, but I think you've moved since then, maybe twice. I get my mail at yahoo, so you should be able to figure out the rest. Technically, I'm also "dave" at the mail for my domain, but I have never once even looked at that mailbox, so dont even bother.

i am surfing around tonight because i have recovered enough to sit up but i am a days away from taking on my normal workload. when i hit that level again, my nose will be at the grindstone, so do not ever interpret my time away from blogs as forgetting you. nobody should. it's like your cartoon almost.

when i was doing less idiots i set a standard for expectations, but i was doing that damn near twenty hours a day for almost two years. my focus was totally in those blogs.

hell now i look at my own site for like two minutes in the morning and ditto at night. i just do not have the time, i would wind up like the romans spread out to uselessness.

most of the people i kept close contact with now have slipped away. some of them like you and poobers for example, i valued your thoughts and learned from them. those i miss.

so i am very glad you will not stop working on this. you are someone who always should have had a larger audience, because you were seeking the truth.

not enough people doing that.

I agree with Gisher, keep it up Dave. The sphere is shrinking and you still stand out. Wish I could say the same, but it's been a screwy year...

A lot of people, including myself, claim that they'd write their blogs even if no one was reading it. While that might be ideally true, I really dont think it holds up in real life. So I'm wagging my tail and saying, thank you both. Validation is good.
