(412) 381-1218

This number keeps calling my phone. Since I have caller ID and a machine, I never answer it. According to Dohiyi Mir, it's the DNC.
I'm still not going to answer it. If they want to talk to me, they can leave a message. And make it more than empty rhetoric, please. The lesser of two evils is still evil.

They called my wife about 12 nights running. I always told them she wasn't home.

They called my house this afternoon four times. And never left a message.

But, who are "They"???
I'm getting daily calls from this # and when I answer there's nothing - if I wait a bit...click. They'll never make a sale that way!

Here's a trick you can try that I've read about: When you answer the phone, punch the "#" button as fast as you can, six or seven times, then hang up. Supposedly, if there's a computer on the other end of the line, this confuses it, and it kicks your number off the list it's using. I dont really know if this is true, or what it's affect on humans at the other end is (assuming it's a human and not a computer).

I am on bed rest from an operation. To date, they have called me 34 times in the past five days, including once this morning (Sunday). I finally got wise enough to look them up online. I don't care if it is ths DNC; they need to stop harrassing (sp?) people.

they call me all the time, I just went through my phone log, 20 times in the last week, how do we get on there do not call list

As far as I know, the "do not call" list applies only to commercial callers; charities and political parties need not worry about such things. You need caller ID, an answering machine to screen, and a good memory for numbers. Even cell phones arent safe, thanks to our whores in Washington.

I work for Outreach Associates.

Guys, It doesn’t matter if your on the do not call list. The Co in question does calling for about 50 different Non-Profits. Non-Profits are exempt form the Do Not Call list. So if you want to stop getting calls, you can do 2 things:

#1- just be avoidant and wait for the campaign to end

or

#2- pick up the Damn phone and ask them to please put you on the do not call list.

Keep in mind that they have to disclose who they are calling on behalf of befor they will honor this request. Make sure you say that you are either the person that they are looking for, or their spouse.

And please don’t be nasty about it. The work we do is truly thankless, yet we raised almost a quarter of the money Kerry had last year. Even though its annoying, its for a good cause.

...so don’t be a dick.

PS,

Because of the volume of calls we make, we are not permitted to leave messages. You think you’re pissed now? Imagine how pissed you would be if we clogged your machine up.

The telephone is a direct line into my private space. Receiving unwanted calls is akin to someone just walking through my front door, unnanounced, asking if they can steal a few minutes of my time to talk me out of some money.

I don't care who is calling or what the cause is, if they're not invited, they can buzz off. They are invading my privacy and should not be allowed to call ANYONE without advanced authorization. If I want to donate to a cause or get my carpets cleaned or whatever, *I* will make the effort to go out and seek the organization or service with whom I want to engage.

A telemarketer's job is thankless, because it SHOULD be.
