founding wisdom

"As Mankind becomes more liberal, they will be more apt to allow that all those who conduct themselves as worthy members of the community are equally entitled to the protections of civil government. I hope ever to see America among the foremost nations of justice and liberality."
George Washington (props to David Brin)

You hear that, you lying conservative bastards?

Shit. Am I going to have to start screening my comments? I'm trying to imagine what it was about my blog that made this person think I'd respond favorably to their comment.

I've got a feeling they may not have been too discriminating in who they spammed.

Does that stuff make anyone more intelligent in the world ever?

Religion may make you a lot of things, but I dont think smarter is one of them.

Creepy. Shouldn't they be purusing Pro-Bush blogs? Oh wait... maybe there aren't any.

My goodness. Great quote. The problem is, we can all find quotes supporting our position, and the Founding Fathers were religious, but they also firmly believed in the separation of Church and State

The great thing about a quote is that (assuming they really said it) it's always true. Of course, that doesnt mean we've used it in context, but while that might change the meaning sometimes, I dont think it always does. This seems a good example of not always.
